Description:

Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections such as 

 Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Gonococcal infection and certain types of infectious diarrhea. This medicine can also be used to treat urinary tract infections, anthrax, and plague. Caution is advised while using this medicine in the elderly population since it may increase the risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture.

Uses of Ciprocin 500 MG Tablet

What is it prescribed for?

Pneumonia:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia which is that the commonest sort of lung infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenza.

Bronchitis:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of bronchitis which is an inflammation of the liner of the bronchial tubes caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and a few Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

Cystitis:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of cystitis which may be a bladder infection caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci, Klebsiella pneumonia, etc.

Prostatitis:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of Prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate that produces semen) caused by Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas and Enterococcus species.

Gonococcal infection:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of gonococcal infection, which may be a sexually transmitted bacterial infection caused by gonococcus.

Joint infection:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of bone and joint infections caused by Enterobacter cloacae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens, etc.

Pneumonia with CF: 

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of pneumonia with CF , a genetic disease that causes thick mucus to create up within the lungs and promotes the expansion of bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus and Hemophilus influenza.

Pyelonephritis:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of pyelonephritis which may be a sort of kidney infection caused by E. coli, Pseudomonas aeurginosa, Enterococci, Klebsiella pneumonia, etc.

Inhalation Anthrax:

• This medicine is employed within the treatment of anthrax which may be a rare but serious bacterial illness caused by Bacillus anthracis.

Pregnancy:

• This medicine isn't recommended to be used in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. It is important to consult a doctor before consuming this medicine.

Breast-feeding:

• This medicine isn't recommended to be used in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. It is important to consult a doctor before consuming this medicine. If the drugs are employed, the infant should be monitored closely for any adverse effects.

General warnings

Tendinitis and tendon rupture:

• The use of this medicine will increase the risk of developing tendinitis or tendon rupture during the treatment or several months after the treatment. This may affect your shoulders, hands, ankles, or other parts of your body. You are at a higher risk if you are more than 60 years of age or if you have undergone a transplant of kidney, heart, or lung. You are also at a higher risk if you are on corticosteroids such as dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, or prednisone. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with an appropriate alternative could also be required in some cases supported the clinical condition.

Drug-resistance:

• Irrational dosing might fail in providing benefits and may even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of developing bacteria that are drug-resistant.

Alternative treatment:

• This medicine can be used to treat an acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis or uncomplicated cystitis, but only as a last resort. This drug should be used only if you have no alternative treatment options for the above-mentioned conditions.

Diarrhea:

• Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium Difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. If you have any of these problems, seek immediate medical advice and take advice from your doctor.

Driving or Operating machinery:

• The use of this medicine may rarely cause symptoms such as blurred vision, drowsiness, dizziness, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you simply don't perform any activities like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of those symptoms during treatment with this medicine.
