This is the mixture of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) and Caffeine. it's analgesic and antipyretic properties. Paracetamol is one of the safest and most generally used analgesics and antipyretics. It produces analgesia action by elevation of absolutely the threshold and antipyresis through action on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center. Caffeine is an alkaloid which is theophylline like Xanthine derivative. By intermolecular association with Paracetamol, Caffeine increases the solubility and transmembrane permeation of Paracetamol. Dosage & Administration

Adult dose: 1-2 Napa Extra tablets every 4-6 hours. Maximum dose: 8 Napa Extra tablets daily.
Child dose: Not recommended for youngsters below 12 years.

Interaction

May reduce serum levels with anticonvulsants (e.g. phenytoin, barbiturates, carbamazepine). Prolonged use may increase the anticoagulant effect of warfarin and another coumarin. Accelerated acceleration with metoclopramide and domperidone. Serum levels could also be increased with the utilization of probenecid. May increase serum levels of chloramphenicol. Within 1 hour of admin can reduce absorption with cholestyramine. Acute hypothermia can occur with phenothiazine.

The disadvantages

Side effects of paracetamol are generally mild, although hematological reactions are reported, including thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia leukopenia, and agranulocytosis. Pancreatitis, rash, and other allergies occur occasionally.

Pregnancy and lactation

Pregnant mothers should consult a physician before taking paracetamol and caffeine. Paracetamol and caffeine could also be taken during lactation.

Overdose Effects

Symptoms of paracetamol overdose within the first 24 hours are pallor, nausea, vomiting, anorexia and abdominal pain. Liver damage may become apparent 12 to 40 hours after ingestion. Abnormalities of glucose metabolism and acidosis may occur.
